ExperienceI love tutoring because it is the perfect venue for encouraging active learning. The two most important skills of active learning are self-motivation and academic curiosity. This positive approach to learning will help students flourish in college and succeed in any job field. My goal is to get students excited about and comfortable with the material they are covering. I am especially good at tailoring my tutoring style to individual needs. The best moments of tutoring is when someone puts a lot of effort into learning and achieves their goal.
I have 5 years of teaching experience. I graduated from Lower Merion High School in 2010 with a GPA of 4.8 (out of 5) with 2 AP English classes, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and AP BC Calculus completed.
HobbiesSwimming, ceramics, volunteering at my local animal shelter, bicycling, running, sudoku puzzles, and learning (of course!)

Before I contacted Jen I was struggling to keep up in my Algebra 2 and Chemistry classes. She really helped me understand the material and was always very encouraging. She also showed me how concepts from different units connected together so it all made sense. My grades went up in both classes - thank you Jen!
